The unique 84-year-old ex-Ton Satomi’s resident that is nowadays Ishikawa’s property, has a salon in western style and an annex in traditional Japanese style. The fortepiano, the ancestor of the piano nowadays will be performed by Chie Hirai who lives in the Netherlands as an active fortepiano player. The fortepiano was the major keyboard instrument that Mozart and Beethoven used and performed at their times, has completely different sounds that is the most suitable for chamber music. We wish that the charm of both the historical instrument and architecture would be an eye-opening experience which let us have a thought on paying respect on something old.
Especially to focus the ex-Ton Satomi’s residence, a historical architecture in Japan, we have a talk by the fortepiano-player and the architectural historian during the concert time. Also we will talk about the idea to preserve the historical things and introduce the way of Holland and Japan.
